In 1937, a sign painter in the Texas Panhandle jumped a boxcar to the Golden State. The hobos, Okies and landscape Woody Guthrie saw along the way are the fabric of his songs. This shirt is a fine vintage checkerboard of every color "This Land" turns between Amarillo and Bakersfield. For whoever's already decided to go.
4.0 oz. cotton flannel, medium-light, from a mill 150 years old. Soft, pliable, yours on the first wear. Pre-shrunk, 100% cotton. Mother-of-pearl snaps, iridescent like the inside of a shell. Take care of it and it will outlast the trip. Cut and sewn in Los Angeles from the isle of Japan's finest fabric.
